Dr. W. David Colby

Professor of Microbiology

Originally from Chatham, Ontario, Dr Colby obtained his MD from the University of Toronto and was awarded Fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (Medical Microbiology Specialist) in 1990.  He was the Chief of Microbiology at University Hospital, London and served on the Infectious Diseases service there.  For the past nine years Dr Colby has been the Medical Officer of Health for Chatham-Kent, Ontario and is a Coroner for the Province of Ontario. Dr Colby is the recipient of many teaching awards and is a legally recognised expert on wind turbine sounds and health.

He is the author of Optimizing Antimicrobial Therapy: A Pharmacometric Approach., North American Compendiums Inc., Port Huron, MI 2007.

Dr Colby has three grown children and is an avid sailor, pilot, fisherman and artist in acrylic, watercolor and egg tempera. His favourite quote is from the double-amputee British fighter ace, Sir Douglas Bader:
